TERMS OF STUDY
Parties:
This agreement is between you and Distance Cert Ltd. (registered in the UK as company number 13378007).
Fees:
You will pay two fees overall for the course based on the prices listed on our website at the time and subject to any discounts, payment plans or promotions offered or agreed by us:
● The training fee
● The moderation fee for English UK / LanguageCert (for moderation of assignment and certificate issue)
Both fees cover the whole of the course and assessment of assignments. Fees are payable upon acceptance of your application.
Registration:
Your registration is valid for two years from the time you begin the course (the date the first units of the course are sent to you). This does not include the time to complete and submit your end-of-course assignment (capped at 12 weeks from the date you complete and receive feedback on the final of the 30 units).
Workload:
You will complete the following work:
● All 30 pre-unit tasks (not to be submitted)
● All unit notes
● All 30 end-of-unit assignments (submitted to tutor)
● The required Cert IBET assignment for submission to English UK / LanguageCert
You will also be able to attend two one-to-one tutorials with one of the course tutors at agreed times and intervals.
Submission of Units:
When you submit a unit for marking and feedback, we will return our feedback to you within an absolute maximum of two weeks but would inform you if circumstances did not allow this. Normal turnaround time is around one to five days for you to receive feedback. You can continue to work on other units while awaiting feedback on previous ones.
Assignments and Marking:
Your assignment will be marked by the course tutors using objective criteria issued by English UK and LanguageCert. If we do not believe the assignment will meet or exceed the standards set by English UK and LanguageCert, we will refer the assignment back to you with feedback. We can allow two additional chances to resubmit to us. In the rare event that an assignment is sent for moderation and the tutor's assessment differs from that of the moderator (i.e. tutor believes the assignment is a "pass" while the moderator states "refer"), an additional fee may be payable by you to cover the work done by the moderator at LanguageCert.
Course Materials:
Course materials are provided for the sole use of the registered student. Sharing of Distance Cert IBET training materials with others or posting online is strictly prohibited.
Ending of Accreditation or Withdrawal of Qualification:
In the extremely unlikely event that English UK withdraw approval of Distance Cert Ltd. to run Cert IBET courses or should English UK terminate the offering of the certification, you agree to continue the course and be awarded the “Professional Certificate in Business English Training” (name subject to change) by Distance Cert Ltd. upon successful completion of all units. In such cases, no moderation fee is payable and will be refunded.
Refunds on Training Fees:
Once the first units have been sent to you, no refunds on training fees can be given.
Complaints, Comments and Feedback:
We always welcome your comments and feedback on materials and course structure. While we design material ourselves, it must be noted that core content of the certification is not set by us and is mandated by English UK as the accrediting body.
Time Management for Completion of Units:
You are reminded that only you are responsible for your time management while studying on The Distance Cert IBET.
Material and Work Produced by Student:
You retain any and all rights to your work. All materials created by you on the course remain the intellectual property of you, their creator.
Your Agreement:
By enrolling on the Cert IBET with us, you agree with the above.
