CTPME - Certificate in Teaching Project Management English

Overview

Our comprehensive Certificate in Teaching Project Management English (CTPME) course is designed specifically for educators who aim to equip students with the essential language skills needed in the dynamic field of project management. By the end of this course, you will be well-prepared to create engaging and effective lessons that foster both language development and project management expertise.

 

Course Type

This is a self-directed distance learning course that you complete at your own pace. You have one year from the start of the course in which to complete all units and the final assignment. You can start the course at any time.


Learning Hours


The course will take around 18 hours to complete including study, end-of-unit tasks and assignment completion.

The course is composed of 10 units, each with an end-of-unit task to complete; you will receive written feedback from a learning mentor for each end-of-unit task. The units are:

Course Objectives


1. To develop teachers’ understanding of how project managers communicate and how language supports decision making, clarity and collaboration.

2. To equip teachers with the skills to teach project management terminology through context, collocation and authentic documents.

3. To enable teachers to design tasks that integrate reading, writing, listening and speaking within project based scenarios.

4. To familiarise teachers with key project management tools (Gantt charts, RACI matrices, risk registers, Kanban boards) and how to use them as carriers for language.

5. To strengthen teachers’ ability to teach functional language for meetings, updates, negotiations, delegation and stakeholder communication. 

6. To support teachers in creating role plays, simulations, case studies and other activities that reflect real project communication challenges.

7. To be able to assess and evaluate Project Management English.

Assessment


The course is assessed by an assignment of 3000 to 4000 words focusing on one of four options each involving an aspect of Project Management English training. All assignments involve providing a full rationale for any ideas, concepts, methods, materials, tasks and frameworks suggested. ​You will receive full written feedback on your assignment from an experienced Project Management English teaching professional.
